High Blood Pressure Diet

* Eat the right foods and lower your blood pressure

If you have high blood pressure you should consider the high blood pressure diet in order to lower your blood pressure and avoid medication if at all possible. Fortunately, while the high blood pressure diet restricts certain foods it is not impossible to follow and there are in fact some really great foods you can enjoy while on the high blood pressure diet that will satisfy your cravings and help you maintain your blood pressure.

The foods that you should eat on a high blood pressure diet include fruits, vegetables, high fiber foods, and lean meats. You should avoid fatty foods, refined carbohydrates, excessive sugar, and fried foods. By following this type of high blood pressure diet you will more than likely be able to get your blood pressure back down to normal without having to begin prescription drug therapy. Remember, the high blood pressure diet will only work if you follow it on a regular basis. This means that you cannot start a high blood pressure diet and eat French fries one night, a cheeseburger the next, and an ice cream sundae for dessert each night. A high blood pressure diet means that you will eat healthy and follow the diet 98% of the time and the other 2% you can eat what you like. For example, your birthday, anniversary, and the like allow you to splurge. However, when on the high blood pressure diet you should do your best to be true to it in order to really lower your blood pressure.

After a couple months on the high blood pressure diet you should see your blood pressure come tumbling down without the use of prescription drugs. Of course, when on the high blood pressure diet if you exercise on a regular basis you will speed up the process.
